چکیده
We present a data set of images of the gravitationally lensed quasar Q2237+0305, that was obtained at the Apache Point Observatory (APO) between June 1995 and January 1998. Although the images were taken under variable, often poor seeing conditions and with coarse pixel sampling, photometry is possible for the two brighter quasar images A and B with the help of exact quasar image positions from HST observations. We obtain a light curve with 73 data points for each of the images A and B. There is evidence for a long (∼> 100 day) brightness peak in image A in 1996 with an amplitude of about 0.4 to 0.5 mag (relative to 1995), which indicates that microlensing has been taking place in the lensing galaxy. Image B does not vary much over the course of the observation period. The long, smooth variation of the light curve is similar to the results from the OGLE monitoring of the system (Woźniak et al. 2000a).

Using galaxy redshift surveys to detect gravitationally-lensed quasars
Gravitationally-lensed quasars can be discovered as a by-product of galaxy redshift surveys. Lenses discovered spectroscopically in this way should require less observational effort per event than those found in dedicated lens surveys. Further, the lens galaxies should be relatively nearby, facilitating a number of detailed observations that are impossible for the more common high-redshift lens...
متن کاملDetection of chromatic microlensing in Q 2237 + 0305 A
We present narrow band images of the gravitational lens system Q 2237+0305 made with the Nordic Optical Telescope in eight different filters covering the wavelength interval 3510-8130 Å. Using PSF photometry fitting we have derived the difference in magnitude vs. wavelength between the 4 images of Q 2237+0305. At λ = 4110 Å, the wavelength range covered by the Strömgren-v filter coincides with ...

The largest systematic uncertainty present in the analysis of gravitationally microlensed quasar light curves is that of the galactic transverse velocity. We describe a method for determining the transverse velocity as well as its application to published monitoring data of Q2237+0305 (Irwin et al. 1989; Corrigan et al. 1991; Østensen et al 1995). We find that while this data displays strong ev...

Aims. X-ray observations of gravitationally lensed quasars may allow us to probe the inner structure of the central engine of a quasar. Observations of Q2237+0305 (Einstein Cross) in X-rays may be used to constrain the inner structure of the X-ray emitting source. Methods. Here we analyze the XMM-Newton observation of the quasar in the gravitational lens system Q2237+0305 taken during 2002. Com...
متن کاملThe Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment. a Hunt for Caustic Crossings in Qso 2237+0305. *
In 1998 The Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) successfully implemented automated data reductions for QSO 2237+0305. Using a new image subtraction method we achieved a differential photometry scatter of 1–5% for images A–D respectively. Combined with a time sampling of 1–2 times a week this is sufficient for early detection of caustic crossings. Nearly real time photometry of QSO 2...
